Bitumen Shingles installation
Please follow the steps below when installing your bitumen shingles.
Installation instructions
• Lay the shingles starting from the eave edge, working upward toward the ridge.
• When installing, ensure the black adhesive stripes face upward and are visible – this confirms the shingles are correctly orientated before the adhesive is pressed down.

• Each row should overlap the row below sufficiently to cover the exposed fixings of the previous course.
• Ridge shingles should be cut from the existing standard shingles and bent over the ridge, as illustrated in the guide.

Fixing method
Although the shingles are self-adhesive, we strongly recommend nailing them as well for additional security and long-term weather resistance – particularly important in exposed locations in Ireland. Nails are not included in the kit.

Important notes
- Install shingles on a dry surface only.
- In cold weather (below 10°C), the self-adhesive backing may be less effective – allow the shingles to warm up before installation or use additional nails.
- Apply cut-end treatment to any shingle edges that have been trimmed.
